NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY

Days for newborn babies:

Newborn sessions are mostly successful with infants between 8-15 days as they

at this period of time are sleepy and easy to pose. Their bodies tend to be more

flexible and squishy for posing. Babies after 15 days tend to sleep less and start to develop colic and baby acne.

The session:

The session is normally from 2 to 4 hours in length including feeding,

comforting baby and putting back baby to sleep. Please ensure that you bring enough milk to support baby at least a 6 hour time period. Babies feed far more often than usual during newborn session. The studio temperature is set to about 24c, as babies are used to being warm and cozy in the womb. It may be quite hot for adults. We do not recommend any relatives, friends and helper to come along for the session for ideal shooting environment. Less people in studio is the best.

Baby Safety always comes first. If we think the baby is not ready to pose ie. baby is too vulnerable, we will not risk the baby for any posing.

Preparations prior to the session:

Full tummy during the session is very important for baby to fall into deep sleep.

No matter if you are breast feed or bottle feed, please make sure your baby

is fully fed. We strongly recommend for bottle feed with formula for full tummy, but if you prefer breast feed, bumping out to the bottle is recommended. Your baby will be in nude for most of the time during session, please bring plenty of wipes and diapers and another set of clothes and swaddle for baby. We also suggest bringing spare clothes for yourself in case baby poo/pee on you.

Props & Accessories:

All props, hats, and headbands will be provided by Cozy Hygge Photography.

Poses/Props Selections:

If you have any preference on props or poses that you want us to attempt, please let us know at least 2 days before the shooting day so that we can prepare. Any requests on shooting day will not be considered.

Location:

The newborn session are done in Cozy Hygge Studio located in Markham Ontario, Canada where we have access to lighting, props, hats, heater, and so on. Location shooting may be considered in terms of distance.
